I'm going to repeat what I said from last Friday. Today is a rest day. Take a break from the physical activity you've been doing. However, you can still improve today. Can you challenge yourself with what you put in your body today? For today, can you avoid sugar for the entire day? This means soft drinks, Gatorade/Powerade, fruit juices, Twizzlers, gummi worms, energy drinks, etc. Try to drink only water, unsweetened tea and/or unsweetened coffee. Instead of snacking on something concocted in a lab, cook a few eggs, grab a piece of fruit, chow down on some good deli meat or eat a handful of macadamia nuts. If you give a little effort, have a little awareness and maybe even come up with a plan, then you could avoid sugar for one day with ease. And if you can, then try to make it two days in a row. There's nothing like a little momentum to make a big transformation.

CULTURE
no games today
In lieu of no games today, check out "Tor! Total Football". It's the official film of the 1988 European Championships. Pretty random, I know, but an absolute classic 58 minutes of, dare I say, poetry. I'm not big on hyperbole, but the narrator's over-the-top descriptions of the proceedings makes it very entertaining. Not to mention, you get to see a good bit of vintage 1980's EuroTrash-style including short shorts, perm mullets and a healthy amount of mustaches. Back then, in the "pre-Modern Era of US Soccer" wasteland of zero mainstream acceptance, it was nearly impossible to watch any soccer on television. We had to rely on videos like this to scratch the itch. Tor is a classic. Enjoy.
